Roadmaster Engine is excited to offer the Ford 6.7L powerstroke diesel remanufactured engine. Most of all, Roadmaster offers an 18 month/unlimited mile warranty.
In 2008 Ford Motor Company decided to develop a new diesel engine in house and no longer outsource their Super Duty diesel. Furthermore the new engine, code named Scorpion; would become a ground breaking power plant that could lay the foundation for Ford’s next generations of diesel engines to come. After a year of extensive development, the engine was put into its new home (the Ford F-series) and the engine code named Scorpion, was designated as the 6.7 Power Stroke.
POWER STROKE
Power Stroke is a line of diesel engines found in Ford Diesel trucks. These power horse V8 engines were produced by Navistar International Corp. until 2010 when Ford decided to build their diesel engine completely in-house.
The Power Stroke 6.7 L is the first medium duty diesel engine designed and built by Ford. During the design, Ford engineers codenamed this engine “Scorpion” due to the exhaust manifold and turbo being mounted in the engine’s “valley”.
This Ford 6.7L diesel new Power Stroke features a lot of firsts in the 3/4-ton and 1-ton diesel segment. For starters, its twin-inducer turbocharger, air-to-water intercooler, and reverse-flow cylinder heads are a first in this segment. However, these are only the most eye-opening nuances. Let us remind you that, for noise and durability purposes, the engine features four rocker arms and pushrods per cylinder-also a first.
FORD 6.7L UPDATES
Ford announced, shortly after production, that they have made an update to the new 6.7L diesel. 2015 engines are rated at 440 horsepower and 860 lb·ft torque. Ford claims the bump in horsepower is from a new turbo, new injector nozzles and exhaust improvements.
However, in 2017, they’ve also improved the engine in many other ways as well. Furthermore they’ve added a larger compressor vane for exhaust gasses to turn the compressor. This helps to permit lower boost pressure and eliminates the wastegate. There is a new fuel pump and fuel injectors that give the engine significantly more power while reducing the emissions. They added a new temperature control system to enhance the turbo efficiency and improve performance. The spark plugs in the engine are now instant-start Glow Plugs that will start the engine quickly, even in cold winter conditions. They’ve also taken measures to make the engine lighter as well. The new cylinder heads are aluminum with precision dual water jackets that improve engine cooling and reduce weight. Ford also switched to a graphite engine block, which is stronger and still lighter than cast iron.
With a design life of half a million miles, the biggest F-Series diesel should be very durable.

One of the things that I like about remanufactured engines is that they are cheaper than new ones. That and if I had to get a diesel, it would probably be a remanufactured one. As you said here, the 6.7 engine would be a good option to go with.
